VPK Attendance Policy

As part of the state funded voluntary prekindergarten program we are subject to strict attendance guidelines:

A child who is enrolled in the 3 day VPK program can miss up to 16 days of the school year or 15 percent of the 540 hours. The State of Florida will no longer pay for absences after the 16 day limit per school year. Parents then become responsible for paying for any days missed beyond the 16 days.

If a child is absent from the VPK program for 5 consecutive days, a parent/guardian will be required to sign a form stating the reason for the absence.

Parents are asked to provide documentation for all absences including the reason for the absence, parent signature, and date.

Monthly attendance forms must be signed by a parent or legal guardian of the enrolled VPK student.
