UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship), otherwise known as Youth Group, meets each
Sunday evening from 5:00 - 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. All those
in grades 6-12 are encouraged to join us! We begin with a snack
dinner, games, and a short lesson, followed by more games and
fellowship. It's a lot of fun and great way to meet new friends!
Bring one along and see you Sunday! On
Sunday mornings, youth primarily attend the Contemporary Worship
Service at 9:30am followed by Sunday School in the Annex at 11:00am.
Currently our youth are involved in two
fundraisers from which proceeds will go to help fund a portion of
their Ski Trip.
Our Ski Trip is Scheduled for Jan. 18th - 21st. We
will once again be going to Lake Junaluska, North Carolina. It is a
wonderful retreat area nestled in the Smoky Mountains. We will be
staying at the Methodist Retreat center where youth will experience
Christian Rock Concerts & Contemporary Worship Opportunities
throughout the weekend. Lodging will be hotel style with meals in
the main dinning area.
Last year, 14 of us went. It snowed during the
drive up and throughout the night. The next day, we not only had
fresh snow to ski on, but we drove over the blue ridge parkway and
sledded for days with the locals. In the evenings, we enjoyed
wonderful fellowship opportunities as well as special group
activities.
